On June 5, after thorough renovation, the Estonian Crop Research Institute was re-introduced into the plant biotechnology, plant-genetics plant protection departments, and a renovated laboratory building of the Gene bank.

The Institute of Plant Protection and plant biotechnology, and the members of the gene bank for workers, also participated in this happy event, the Minister of Rural Affairs Arvo Aller and the chancellor Tiina Saron of the Ministry of Rural Affairs.

The Institute of Gene Bank's remains was presented by the head of the gene bank's crop collection and preservation coordinator in Estonia, Külli Annamaa.
