The Advisory Board meeting was held on the Svalbard from 24 to 26 February 2020. Discussions were on the agenda on the activities and procedures of the Seed bank, on the implementation of new security measures and on improving public information.

It was given an overview of the situation of reconstruction of the seed bank building and of the initiation of a long-term test (until 100 a) on the preservation of seeds ' viability.

The first accessions of the Genebank of the Estonian Crop Research Institute were deposited in Svalbard Global Seed Vault in 2018.
